My props go out to all the bloggers who manage to post something more than once a century. My major props to those who blog daily. I am not one of those people. Obviously. I thought I was busy before baby, but, holy smokes, am I ever busy now that Oliver is here. Our days are spent eating (every two-three hours), napping (its impossible to "sleep when the baby sleeps."), playing/singing/dancing/homeschooling (haha - we do review some "school work" during the day, including but not limited to the State song - Alabama, Alaska, Arizona...). That was probably one huge run on sentence but who the heck cares about things like that when you don't have time to eat lunch, vacuum your house or stay up-to-date on celebrity gossip? I do manage to have dinner ready every night so Jake and I can spend a total of 12 minutes together during the day. This parenting thing is hard work. Hard, but worth every second. I am so in love with our son. The days fly by and I look back and realize I spent half the day staring at him, memorizing his features, talking baby talk and kissing sweet toes and fingers. This.child.is.irresistible.

| Momma & Oliver - two weeks old, the night he lost his umbilical cord |
I do mean to blog more. I compose posts in my head while washing dishes but never seem to get around to actually typing and posting. When I do get a few spare minutes during the day, I usually spend them making beds (yes, Jake and I sleep in separate beds at the moment so he can be a functioning adult at work), folding laundry, watching Oprah at 4pm and making endless lists of things I need to do before I go back to work. I have five weeks left on maternity leave and I am looking so forward to those days with Oliver. We have big plans to get outside and start our garden, stroller rides around town, visiting our great grandparents and accomplishing to-dos off those endless lists.
