I am a first time mom, living the verde life with my husband Jake and our baby son, Oliver. We are renovating our 90 year old house, enjoying small town life and loving every second of being parents.

snow, snow go away.
It's been a cold, snowy winter here in NC. You think with my northwestern PA winter training, I would be used to this. NOT. I am ready for spring. I keep telling Jake all this bad weather is happening now so that when the baby gets here, it will be warm and sunny (yeah right). We are 34.5 weeks pregnant as of today. Whew - we are close and I am feeling it. My hips are a little sore, I can no longer bend at the waist and I have a perma waddle. I am kind of sad its almost over. I have loved being pregnant. On the flip side, I am so excited to meet this baby! We have a name picked out and a back up just in case. We are keeping the name a secret until the little guy arrives. I am surprised how many people get upset when you say you don't have a name yet. Don't worry people. We will name the baby. I promise. I had a complete pregnant lady freak out last weekend. I was snowed in, had cabin fever and was pacing the nursery - full nesting mode. I decided to change the nursery decor. I took down the curtains, removed the crib bedding, found receipts and took everything back. Jake just backed away slowly and got off the computer so I could do some Internet shopping. Of course, the new bedding I ordered is on back order until next week but I love, love love it! I drove to Southpoint and picked up the new curtains last week. They look fantastic! I am waiting on a few more package deliveries and we should be good to go. I have one last shower at work this Thursday. We don't really need anything else at this point except diapers and more diapers. We have been so blessed and haven't had to buy too much for baby. I have lists all over the house. Hospital bag list, honey do's for Jake, shopping lists, freezer meals, blah blah blah. I am completely OCD when it comes to lists and preparations. That is how I deal with stress. Lists and raisinets. ha ha! On a side note, I saw the best movie this past Saturday with mom and Michelle - The King's Speech. Go see it. It rocked! There is a sheet of ice covering our area tonight. Dinner is in the oven, Jake should be home in a few minutes. I worked from home today so I am still wearing pajama pants. I am ready to get back into my regular routine and get all this cold, damp weather out of here. Come on sunshine, momma needs some vitamin D!

Oh my goodness, you're getting so close! He'll be here before you know it. I'm glad you've already started your hospital bag list. Get it all together early! Paxton came three weeks early (37 weeks on the dot), and I didn't have a thing packed. Oh, and I'm loving the bedding and curtains. You simply must do a post with some pictures!
